“ensemble” is a birdhouse made for the exhibition Home Sweet Home, curated by Connie Hüsser combining human hair with porcelain.

Crafting a nest with the material porcelain—often referred to as “white gold”—felt like a beautiful way of metaphorically giving something back to nature and its inhabitants. Meanwhile, the human hair parallels the use of feathers by birds building a nest. Keeping this in mind, it was essential that the piece’s form harmonises with natural shape of some birdhouses.
